/signed - Great idea, want more slots, buy another game and add the key to your current account to get more slots.
With the current system, Chapter 2 is going to be expensive... you will need two copies if your running two accounts. This way add chapter 2 get the bonus mystery number of slots added to the base 8 (with two accounts).

Signed``` but really it's too late for me... I've created, ascended and then deleted the best part of 8 characters (2 warriors and 2 monks) because I'm tempremental and get bored when I'm low on vallium.

a strange thought just struck me.
if it would give no advantage of any sort why does a *we NEED more slots* thread keep popping up?
why did this thread pop up and why did people sign it?

Bah, you don't get it. You didn't even read my post.
I don't want FREE character slots. I PAID for 4 more slots, whats it to you if I have my 8 slots on 1 account or 2?

i read it
i got what you said
but i simply disagree with you.
and there are a surprising number of people who do not wish to be forced to delete a long term character for something new and who also cannot afford 2 or 3 accounts for the convenience of the extra slots
the reason they allow separate accounts but not extra paid (so far) character slots is to keep things equal as much as they can.
otherwise they are throwing away a cheap way to make some extra money
personally i dont care as i have both the collectors and regular editions.
i was simply refering to what others have said earlier.

At the risk of sounding cold - I... DO... NOT... CARE what people can and cannot afford. I COULD affort another copy of guild wars. I have my 8 characters. And frankly I dont see the difference between my suggestion and a future "pay-to-unlock-more-slots"-solution.

So if you dont care, why are you voting against it?
Are you being opinionated by what others think?
Anyway, its late, Im going to bed and besides, I dont want this thread filled with discussions going nowhere.

It makes sense... if you pay for it, you should be able to somehow add what you did on one acount to the other.

I can give you one example of how they are losing money. As previously mentioned....my husband and I would be more than happy to purchase a second copy of guildwars...but only if the second copy was added to the first. I have no desire to install 2 copies of the same game. I want to have all my "stuff" and my chars in the same place...instead of having to swap things around...log off...log in...etc. I WILL NOT purchase a second copy of guildwars if it remains completely separate from the first. That is the loss of a sale....ergo...that is losing money....(though you could argue in a roundabout way..that they never had it to begin with...so technically nothing was "lost"). I don't understand the argument that it's not fair to someone who can't afford it. If they can't afford to purchase a second copy of the game...then they can't afford a second copy of the game regardless of whether or not the 2 games become joined..or remain separate. Further more, does this mean that is someone can afford a $600,000 home and another individual lives in an apartment and pays rent...that the person who rents has a right to bitch and complain and say they are at a disadvantage? Someone else's finances should not be of anyone else's concern, at least not in relation to this topic at hand.

You can install it as a separate version of guild wars, or you can put the key right into the current version you have, thereby increasing your character slot numbers.
Therefore you can have two separate accounts (for two people, for example), or a single larger account (as I would very much enjoy, already having deleted some cherished characters with much remorse).

why would you need to unlock both accounts? not as if you are gonna pvp with both accounts. why would yo want to spread the game between the two?
i got my second account fo extra space and so i could play the remaining 3 profesions in pve.
has come in sueful having two accounts so i can be a member in 2 different guilds.

I agree as well. I have a Me/E, Mo/N, and E/Me. I've unlocked all skills of caster classes (Me, N, Mo, E) but I had to give up my PvP slot to make a R/W for the sole purpose of unlocking skills. But as soon as I'm done, I'll have to delete that ranger because I just love my casters too much to delete any of them. Plus, I like to PvP, and experiment with different class combinations. It's killing me that I can't do the skill quests fast enough to complete the game for my R/W =(

my prediction on the number of additional slots is either 2 more slots or one half the number of new professions whichever is larger

Also, 4 is ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
3 RPG (a war, monk, and an ele) You can unlock all the skills that way since each char has 2 professions.

Not about that:
It would:
1) Allow both my accounts to be in our guild, otherwise I take two of our 100 slots, and we need them all (not yet, but if everyone in the guild with 2 accounts used 2 slots we'dbe presed for space and we are still growing.)
2) Allow me to transfer stuff between my characters and share gold, rather than needing to use 2 computers/have a friend mule for me.

You still have to log out and back in to switch characters as it is. Having 8 slots won't change that.

I really can't see a downside. It's a tradeoff of running/other two-person activites for skill unlocks. I'd definately go for it, assuming it was optional.

Four spots is not anywhere near enough if you have more than one person who plays the game.
